The Brevard Housing Authority has proudly served the community of Brevard, North Carolina since 1968. OUR MISSION is to provide safe, quality and affordable housing, to expand available resources, and to collaborate with the community to create opportunities for BHA residents.
We own and manage 163 public housing units at five locations across town. One of those units has been converted to a community resource center that provides after school services and enrichment programs, as well as a summer nutrition site, and is available for other community outreach programs.
Our website provides general information about our staff, board, policies, the federal public housing program, career opportunities and the process of doing business with the Housing Authority. For those interested in housing, we offer information about the application process and waiting list. For current BHA residents we have listings of current job opportunities and partner organizations, details about community service requirements, and information about services and resources offered to our residents.

On May 16, we posted an updated Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP) for public comment. It includes our new tobacco-free policy that will go into effect on January 1, 2018. The full policy document is available at the office, and by request, we will print one for you. You can also download the full policy document here. The Board will vote on the policy at their next meeting, on June 20, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
Summer is almost here. Please save yourself some energy costs by (1) using your programmable thermostat so air conditioning is not running 24/7, (2) setting the cooling temperature when you are home no lower than 76 degrees, and (3) turning off the A/C and opening your windows whenever the weather permits. Thanks to everyone for being energy conscious!
